Building the project

After a project has been created in AbsoftTools, it is built by choosing the Build menu Build item or by clicking on the Build button, represented with a hammer icon, in the tool bar. Switching between release and debug builds is simply a matter of selecting the desired build using the Active Build selection list in the tool bar. AbsoftTools provides the ability to create custom debug and release build option sets and these would also appear in the Active Build selection list. The image below shows AbsoftTools with the completed VFFTpack project following a successful build. The source file ftcb.f has been opened in the editor and other files can be opened for editing by selecting them in the Files pane.

Main Window After Successful Build

In this example, the VFFTpack project compiled without generating any errors. If the compiler had detected errors, they would be displayed in the Errors/Warnings tab. Clicking on each error message would display the file containing the error in the editor with the problem source line highlighted.
